The role will support the implementation of the first Essex Healthy Weight Strategy.  

Specific activities may include:

•  Undertaking primary research e.g., supporting the facilitation of stakeholder engagement (including system professionals and local people), which may be in person or virtually. 
• Developing tools for data collection and reporting, as well as monitoring progress and performance against these, and communicating progress effectively.
• Scoping new action and activities e.g., reviewing existing literature
• Supporting the delivery of priority activities

• ARU undergraduate student studying one of the following degrees; Public Health, Sport Science or Nutrition
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong IT proficiency, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, plus Teams and ideally miro and/or mural
• Ability to manage competing priorities
• Quantitative and qualitative data analysis

• Project management
• Creativity

• Improved knowledge and awareness of the Essex public health system, in the context of obesity 
• Improved ability and confidence to translate public health knowledge and recommendations into practice 
•  Improved understanding and application of applied public health evaluation
