Job Title: House Hunting Assistant
Start Date: Monday 12th August 2019
Proposed End Date: Friday 23rd August 2019
Hours: Approx. Aprox 50-60 hours per week over 7 days between 07.00-20.00 but mostly 08.00-18.00
Rate of pay: £9.00 per hour
 
Duties:
  • Staff a house hunting/clearing room and work with students holding offers to Anglia Ruskin University to secure accommodation
  • Be the first contact for students looking to secure accommodation either in the private sector or ARU provided accommodation
  • Provide a house hunting information service in person, over the phone, by email or live chat
  • Demonstrate how to use StudentPad (house hunting website)
  • Liaise with ARU accommodation, private landlords and agents regarding property availability
  • Assist students in securing property viewings
  • Log and report students who are looking to secure private sector accommodation and keep in regular contact with them
  • Provide information on the local area
  • To assist with the administration of task pertaining to the efficient and affective running of the house hunting season
  • To undertake mandatory induction training on a date to be confirmed but likely to be (Tuesday 13 or Wednesday 14 August 2019)
  • To undertake such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time
Post Holders will work over 7 days and are limited to one day’s leave per week as allocated by a rota.

  • Experience of securing accommodation in the private rented sector
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience of working with students
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong IT and telephone skills
  • Confidence to take the initiative
