Key Responsibilities
  • Use reporting systems to effectively manage projects and incidents
  • Assisting the team to resolve raised issues
  • Preparing and documenting new and existing networks based on our designs
  • Monitoring and resolving client backup issues
  • Assisting clients with their IT needs
  • Cover for holidays and sickness
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum experience: 1 year - IT technician / engineering or in a relevant IT capacity
  • Experience with difference Internet connection methods, such as DSL (ADSL, FTTC, FTTP), 3G/LTE and leased line
  • Identifying and fixing cable faults
  • Server / Web Service troubleshooting and resolution
  • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and mobile operating systems
  • Disciplined fault finding
  • VPN deployment and maintenance
  • Routing  VLAN
  • WiFi
  • Data backup practices and issue resolution
  • Competent IT skills and use of common productivity software
  • Clear and effective documentation
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

* Examination costs and study material will be covered by Polaris Networks.
Home study and drive to achieve results is expected. Complimentary sessions will be offered to supplement or enrich study, offering practical experience on topics relevant to job responsibilities.

Places of Work
Unit 13, Upminster Trading Park, Warley Street, Upminster, RM14 3PJ
Working Hours
Office - 08.00am - 17.00pm, Monday to Friday, with an hour unpaid lunch break.
Out of hours may be required on an ad-hoc bases, however this infrequent.
£15,000-£25,000 depending on experience
