Multisport Team wear brand, Samurai Sportswear, are looking for a temporary placement to join their production department in Long Stratton, in the role of Production Intern. Samurai Sportswear has built a worldwide reputation for supplying quality bespoke sports clothing and equipment to the hockey, netball, cricket, rugby and many more markets.
Job description/Required Skills:
The Production department plays a key role in the general every day running of the company as the department is involved throughout the manufacturing process. The role requires a high level of personal awareness and the ability to manage a demanding workload.
Roles and responsibilities;
• Assist with the collation of sample orders and arrange timely dispatch of items within our internal lead times
• Processing purchase orders using the Sage 200 System
• Ensuring the timely delivery of goods or services purchased from suppliers by tracking order and confirm lead times, delivery dates and costs.
• Contacting suppliers via email and phone to check on progress of orders and to discuss any issues/delays etc.
• Place garment stock orders with our overseas factory, inputting purchase orders and producing product job sheets
• Assist the Procurement Director to organise supplier information
• Deal with any supplier or inter-company enquiries relating to ordered products or lead times, communicating with the Manager to come up with solutions and answers and communicating these effectively
• Collating data relating to the procurements function to support with performance analysis and strategic review
• Be an accessible/approachable point of contact for sales, warehousing and other managers – supply them with the information needed; be a forthcoming and communicative team player
• Deal with administration and general assistance in the department, doing so in a professional, thorough and reliable manner
• Assist the Procurement Manager/Director with ad-hoc projects where further guidance will be provided
 
General Requirements:
• High standard of spelling and grammar; clear in your communication
• High level of computer competency, desired ability in Adobe packages
• An enthusiasm to learn and grow; a desire to advance your personal professional development
• Excellent IT competencies; unafraid of learning new systems and eager to learn
• The ability make intelligent and well-considered decisions, remain professional and always be on-the-ball!
• Fastidious attention to detail, even when working under pressure and within tight timeframe.
• Highly developed business acumen and negotiation/influencing skills
• Strong communication skills; be articulate, confident, professional and sometimes assertive
• Results-driven and tenacious, even when presented with new challenges and set back
