We are looking for a scientific technician join our growing science team, to conduct materials characterisation and perform experimental procedures. This role will provide skills development across a range of fields and an opportunity for personal advancement.

We are seeking an individual who can help us: -

  • Complete material analysis, and become an onsite expert in material characterisation techniques
  • Support the R&D scientists with design and implementation of experimental activities
  • Prepare project updates for internal meetings
  • Help maintain and grow our R&D facility
  • Assist with research in scientific areas
  • Analyse, document & record results in accordance with company procedures
  • Manage laboratory supplies

We would like you to be educated to degree level, with an interest in materials science and the following skills and experience: -

  • Strong applied and hands-on experimental capabilities
  • Considered and organised approach to tasks
  • Material characterisation techniques
  • Degree in a relevant STEM subject
  • Capability to grasp quickly new scientific concepts and technologies
  • Exceptional team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to reflect, learn from mistakes and respond positively to feedback
  • Ability to handle several ongoing tasks, and can prioritise and organise own workload
  • Capability to work autonomously and make considered decisions

Advantageous skills and experience: -

  • Experience of material deposition techniques
  • Background or Experience of 2D materials
  • Cleanroom experience

Benefits:
 

£24,000 - £26,000 salary, dependant on skills and experience

4% pension contribution

On successful completion of probation; 3 x death in service and private health
