The Faculty of Business & Law are looking for a Distance Learning and International Compliance Coordinator to join their team on an temporary basis. The purpose of this role is to effectively manage the administrative requirements ofour Distance Learning (including our open cohort DegreeApprenticeships) provision. To deliver complianceagainst the University Tier 4 processes for international students'

Dates: ASAP until 28th February 2020
Times: 09.00-17.00, Monday to Friday
Location: Cambridge Campus
Pay rate: £13.85 per hour
 
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Manage the administrative processes throughout the distance learning student life cycle (from registration to graduation), including but not restricted to assessment and Q&A processes. Liaising as necessary to ensure MAP/moderation/award boards etc are effectively delivered.
2. Manage the administrative requirements associated with our accreditations related to the portfolio of distance learning/open cohort degree apprenticeship courses, including for example CMI.
3. Post registration, manage student queries to a satisfactory end point, including but not restricted to timetabling, liaising as necessary with central timetabling colleagues.
4. Working with the academic lead with responsibility for distance learning/open cohort degree apprenticeship students, ensuring that the Faculty works effectively with the Learning and Development Services team to provide all students with a high quality student experience and support function.
5. Manage the agreed University process for all our Faculty Tier 4 students, ensuring the process is followed, deadlines are met and the Faculty remains compliant.
6. Working with the Head of Operations to deliver continuous improvement in the process, ensuring and Faculty resources are deployed effectively to achieve the required outcomes.
7. Be responsible for the accuracy and management of the Faculty T4 data, providing reports and summaries when requested.
8. Working with the Head of Operations and the central risk and compliance team, to manage and deliver requirements associated with internal and external T4 audits.
9. Working with central University colleagues where necessary, coordinate the “right to study” process and follow up late enrolments for new enrolling on campus international students (UG and PGT) within the Faculty, ensuring that students due to study with us, have completed all requirements.
10. Manage the registration/re-registration process at the beginning of each trimester intake, ensuring effective communication with all on campus international students due to arrive in Faculty and providing accurate and timely reports on non-arrivals.
11. Provide cover during times of planned or unplanned absence for other administrative areas within the Faculty administration function as directed by the Faculty Administration Manager.
12. Working with University support services, deliver efficient and effective processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement and business effectiveness, escalating issues to the Faculty Administration Manager when appropriate.
13. Act as the point of contact for student requests, drawing upon relevant systems including the student database system (ASTRA), resolving issues/queries independently in a courteous, timely and effective manner.
14. Provide effective liaison and communication with other areas of the Faculty, including co-ordinating and meeting requests for provision of information, referring to the Faculty Administration Manager when appropriate.
15. Organise and provide support for appropriate formal (i.e. institutional governance related) internal meetings, committees and working groups etc, recording and disseminating decisions and actions.
 
Person Specification
  • Either undergraduate degree; Or Part qualified in a relevant professional qualification at undergraduate level appropriate to the role; Or Demonstrable appropriate level of experience and evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role
  • Extensive experience in delivering an effective administrative function
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering high quality customer service
  • Experience of servicing meetings
  • Experience of working with external stakeholders
  • Experience of line management
  • Proven ability to develop good working relationships with academic and other colleagues
  • IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
