Student Services are looking to recruit Peer Wellbeing Mentors to deliver wellbeing activities and campaigns to promote positive wellbeing as directed by the mental health adviser in residences at ARU.

The details are:
Dates: Early/mid Feb 2020 until 20th Jan 2021
Times: Between 5pm – 10pm (5 hrs per week)
Location: Chelmsford campus working with a Mental Health Adviser in on-campus accommodation
Pay rate: £9.30 per hour
 
Principal Accountabilities:

1. To work on a rota until 10pm and weekend work to offer specific pre-planned activities.

2. Assist with the promotion of student wellbeing activities and community engagement, taking part when appropriate.

3. To provide information in situations where a resident may be expressing distress or uncertainty and have knowledge to signpost and / or refer them to relevant support services.

4. Complete a report following each duty shift, ensuring any concerns are identified and shared appropriately.

5. To interact with students when on duty with activities such as kitchen meetings and facilitating supportive groups and / or activities.

6. Adhere to all of our confidentiality guidelines and privacy notice (GDPR) and adhere to all protocols and procedures.

7. Attend all relevant training, supervision and meetings.

8. In situations involving concerns for a student’s wellbeing, to assist and take direction from our mental health adviser, Security and Residential Services management.

9. Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may be reasonably required.
